Christ Gospel Church Of Cairo, GA

Our Church

Cairo is a welcoming and loving church. We have a Sunday School Ministry and an active Youth Group with a Bible Quiz Ministry that takes place between the months of March and July each year. Our youth participate in annual District Youth Rallies and Revivals.

In accordance with Ephesians 4:11,13, we teach growing in God to spiritual maturity—unto the measure of the Stature of the Fullness of the LORD Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to reach more people for Jesus through continued engagement and outreach efforts. We faithfully support International Missions.

Our Beliefs

Revs. Steven and Deborah Serfoss have been the Pastors of Christ Gospel Church, Inc., Cairo, Georgia, since May 2011. Reverend Serfoss is married to the former Deborah Odom, and they are the parents of De’Lana, Steven, Jr., and Sterling. Reverend Serfoss was born in Florence, Colorado, in 1961 and lived most of his childhood in Tampa, Florida. Soon after his eighteenth birthday, he accepted the LORD Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Within weeks, he met a Christian who introduced him to Christ Gospel Churches International, Inc. of which both he and his wife have been dedicated and faithful members for more than thirty years. Reverends Serfoss are both graduates of Christ Gospel Bible Institute.

At age seventeen, Reverend Serfoss enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy for ten years where he learned the trades associated with power plant engineering. After completing his service in the Navy, he moved to Orlando, Florida, where he was employed in several industrial engineering positions. In 1998, he and his family relocated to Macon, Georgia, and a year later, he reenlisted in military service in the U. S. Air Force as a Civil Engineer for an additional ten years before he retired. Three years after retirement, Reverends Serfoss answered God’s call to serve in the ministry and were ordained as Pastors.

During his military service, Reverend Serfoss earned a certification in Chaplaincy and currently volunteers his time in community service to hospital patients and nursing home residents He is also an avid outdoors-man who enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, sports, gardening, and landscaping. He plays guitar and writes music as an additional hobby. His greatest love is the study of the Bible—God’s Holy Word!
